Canadian author Edward Willett has been hosting a podcast entitled “World Shapers,” and earlier this year asked the authors he hosted in the first year if they’d contribute a story to an anthology entitled Shapers of Worlds. I was game for that and wrote a short story entitled “Evanescence,” which combines primal myth, solar system formation, deep space mining exploration… and opera. Shapers of Worlds will be out in ebook form in a little less than two weeks, and later this year in print. Also, the other authors are a rather well-known bunch, to say the least.
“Evanescence” is marvelous. The science is indeed a ‘bringing to life’ by the essentials of the universe and the communication between the universes a delightful play of rock and the sublime. This is my type of Sci-Fi!
Thank you for letting me know — and on the first day of publication, no less.
The e-book came out and it was advertised as if there would not be a hard copy. My mistake as I tend to get your hardcover books for my collection.
Because of the Coronavirus your conference at the end of the year is virtual. Please let us know when you work out some form of book signing event – if ever.
I believe there will be a trade paperback version available in November from a Canadian publisher.
I saw what you did there
Is it possible to get an autograph?
I’m always willing to sign books if they’re sent with return postage/shipping. I can also send signed bookplates to any U.S. destination. Unfortunately, it’s cost prohibitive to send anything at my expense to international destinations.
I don’t normally purchase short stories but decided to purchase this one but can’t find a kindle version. Can you point me to where it might be purchased?
Amazon USA lists it as available in kindle format [Shapers of Worlds].
